One Small Step

The goal was to create a main title design for a fictional documentary called One Small Step. It explores the science, politics, and heroism of the Apollo missions.

To emphasize the vastness and isolation of outer space, I used a palette of cold colors. Scenes focusing on the landscape utilized significant negative space, enhancing the sense of scale and making the emptiness of space a visual element in itself.

Conversely, scenes highlighting the astronauts were framed up close, drawing attention to their courage and heroism. This contrast between wide, open shots and intimate, focused compositions allow the sequence to move between the enormity of the mission and the personal stakes of the individuals involved.

Overall, the design aimed to visually narrate both the intimidating environment of space and the human heroism that made the Apollo missions possible.
